Bengaluru, Jan 18: The Byadarahalli police have arrested four individuals, including the prime accused, Nayana, in connection with a honeytrap case. The other accused include Santosh, Ajay, and Jayaraj. After the case was registered, Nayana had gone into hiding at various locations in the city. During the investigation, it was revealed that this was not an isolated incident. The police have seized Nayana’s mobile phone for further examination.

Nayana reportedly befriended a 57-year-old civil contractor through an acquaintance. The relationship developed, and whenever she asked, the contractor would give her Rs 5,000–10,000. One day, she met the contractor on Magadi Road and invited him to her house for tea. Swayed by her charm, he followed her on his scooter to her home.

While at her residence, a group of individuals posing as police officers entered the scene. They accused the contractor of engaging in immoral activities, blackmailed him, assaulted him, and forcibly took photographs after making him undress.

The gang threatened the contractor, claiming a woman officer was present downstairs and insisted on settling the matter there itself. They extorted Rs 29,000 in cash, Rs 26,000 through PhonePe, and jewelry worth approximately Rs 5 lac, including gold chains, rings, and bracelets, before fleeing the scene.

Afterward, the contractor suggested to Nayana that they file a police complaint, but she resorted to further blackmail, threatening to come to his home with her child if he pursued legal action. Distressed, the contractor eventually mustered the courage to file a complaint at the Byadarahalli police station.

The police acted promptly and arrested the accused, bringing an end to their illicit activities. Further investigation is underway.
