Eight dead in road accident


Agra, April 11 (IANS): Eight persons were killed on Thursday when their car rammed into a truck from the rear after the driver lost control of the vehicle, police said.

The car, coming from Lucknow, hit the truck in Fatehabad area, 37 km from here.

The tyres of both the vehicles burst due to the impact of the accident. Six people died on the spot while two others died on way to the hospital. Of the deceased seven were from Jaunpur and one from Azamgarh.

Jaunpur's Sadaphal Yadav was coming to Agra with his friends for an interview for a teacher's post in the B.R. Ambedkar University of Agra in the car, a police officer said.

The police and villagers extricated the bodies from the badly damaged car.
