Mangalore, Mar 27: The programme of issuing voter’s identity cards prior to the election is being organized in the city.

The facility is being provided to the voters to obtain the new identity cards for those  who do not posses them or those whose photographs are missing in the voters lists.

The people can get their  voter’s identity cards from St Josephs Higher Primary School  of Kankanady on Thursday March 26 and from Mangalore University college, Hampankatta on Sunday march 28.

The people unable receive their cards can also collect them from Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat Model Higher Primary school, Bikkarnakatta on Monday March 30, Girls government pre-university college, Car street on Tuesday March 31, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat higher primary school, Gandhinagar on Wednesday April 1 and at St Agnes higher primary school on Thursday April 2.

The programme to distribute the ID cards will function from 9 am to 5.30 pm. Since the voters ID must carry the photographs compulsorily for the coming election, people who have  lost their card are suggested to pay Rs 25 and collect duplicate  ID card.
