Sri Lanka blasts: Muslim leader appeals to gather outside Mysuru church in solidarity

Mysuru, Apr 27: On Sunday, April 28, hundreds of Muslims are expected to stand outside St Philomena’s Church, Mysuru as a mark of solidarity with Christians. After the serial bomb blasts shook Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, members of the Muslim community aim to impart a powerful message to the world that 'hate cannot divide unity'.

JeIM Mysuru president Munawwar Pasha in an audio message which has become viral has given a call to Muslims and members of other communities to stand by Christians at this hour of grief.

Pasha is also heard saying that when a similar attack happened at a mosque in New Zealand, people from various communities stood with Muslims in solidarity.

“Mosques in various parts of the world saw Christians, Jews, Sikhs, etc offering protection and in solidarity with the Muslims. Sri Lanka suffered an appalling attack on Easter Sunday. Churches were attacked while their congregation was in worship, just as those in New Zealand were,” he is heard saying.

While around 253 people lost life in the Sri Lanka’s bomb blasts, it may be recalled that fifty people were killed when a gunman fired at two mosques at Christchurch in New Zealand during Friday prayers on March 15.

Why is he comparing NZ to SL ?
NZ one mad man' s act caused so many innocent's death.
Like in US Schools many a times gunman firing indiscriminately.
SL church goers have absolutely no role in NZ attack.
Whereas SL Terror attack was well planned and organised attack.
Why Terrorists linked NZ to SL?

What he is telling is when NZ attack took place, everyone felt the pain, everyone supported the Muslim Community, everyone condemned the incident. Muslim community noticed it and appreciated the gesture by non Muslims. Even Burj Khalifa lighted the building with the image of NZ PM.
Even NZ attack was planned. The difference is he did it alone and here a group of people did it. Both did to create fear, damage, suffering and death to a particular group of people.
I appreciate the kind gesture of Muslim Community of Mysore. let us all live in peace and harmony. After all we all are children of one God. Killing innocent people does not come from God, it is pure evil.

Gesture of goodwill and support during grief is definitely appreciated, whether it's from Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jain's or Jews!
I feel very sorry for good Muslims, they are genuinely sympathizers for innocent victims but these Terrorists are defaming them, bringing hurdles in their peaceful life and creating environment of mistrust between communities.

One must not compare the Sri Lankan blasts with that in New Zealand a little while ago.

In the New Zealand matter the attacker did not do his work in the name of Christianity. He was most likely an atheist. But he obviously had an issue with Muslims.

In the case of the Sri Lankan blasts, the attack was done in the name of Islam (or a particular sect of Islam). The family were leaders in a mosque.

I might feel sorry for the innocent Muslims. But a few Islamic extremists, almost always Sunnis, have dug a grave for all Muslims! Non-Muslims now treat all Muslims with the same apprehension.

Comparison is done not because of the reason to kill, but because both the places innocents were killed..
U can't compare a terror activity with any religion just because a few people have lost their minds..
We must appreciate anyone who comes out with an act involving peace and love .

It is high time for Muslims around the world to stand up against terrorism and say no to such evil take place in the name of their belief intentionally or fight for separate states in any countries. Every one required to worship to god without fear and do it without intimidation of superiority of any gods. Indian muslims are peace loving and they understand better than any muslims around the world. good job brothers and sisters
