Mumbai, March 30: ‘Borivali Deanery Utsav’ was hosted by the Immaculate Conception Church in Borivali(West) to commemorate the 25th year of the Small Christian Community(SCC) Movement in Mumbai. The Utsav was held on the St Francis D’Assisi Grounds between 8.00 am and 3.00 pm.
The Borivali deanery comprises of 15 parishes from Goregaon to Dahisar. In all 11 parishes participated in the Utsav by sending their teams for the various events.
Fr Frankly Mathias, the parish priest of IC Church along with Fr Benhur—an active organizer—welcomed the teams and inaugurated the Utsav.
The events of the Utsav included men’s football, women's throw ball, dodge ball for children of classes 7, 8, and 9, as well as drawing contest for children of classes 5 and 6.
Members from the SCC and various cells and associations shared their experiences and provided information about the happenings in their parishes.
Jillian D’Souza and other parish council members worked tirelessly to make the event a grand success.
Fr Salu and Fr Barry gave away the prizes and trophies to the winning teams.
