Mangalore, May 3:  The  students of Mangalore Institute of Fashion Technology(MIFT) walked on the  ramp  with their final designer collections at the Town hall  on Saturday, May 2.

The show was  organized as part of their annual celebrations where more than  40  collections were exhibited. The aspiring designers witnessed the potentiality of their study on  fashion technology with the garments worn by models of their  own  college.

The students did the cat walk displaying  Indian style  garments, creative, causal and other designer wear. Each of the collections ran with a traditional, modern  and colour theme.

M G  Hegde, founder of the college  said, the students  have to  design seven  dresses at the  end of the year. It is the curriculum  for them  from the university, so we give them a chance to exhibit their designing skills.

Ms. Kusum,  placement co-coordinator of  Shrinivas  college, speaking at the  inaugural function  said,  fashion  statement  is  from ancient days which  had its own specialty  but now the fashion trend  has become a  vast  subject. Some years back the fashion was only restricted to women but these days  men  too are conscious of  fashion.

Kasturi  Shetty, Principal, MIFT and Fouziya,  President,  Student  Union  were also  present.
