Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 6: As many as 11 persons from India, who were stranded in Kuwait after landing there based on promise of jobs made to them, have succeeded in returning to Mumbai on Sunday August 5. Eight among them, who are from Mangaluru and surrounding areas, would be reaching their homes on Tuesday, August 6

Out of the persons who got stuck in that country after getting lured by the employment agent's job promise, 23 have already reached their hometowns. These 11 persons had been held back at Kuwait as the company which initially employed them accused them of not returning assets of the company and damage to two-wheelers etc. The company had refused to cancel the visa and return the passports to these people.

With the efforts of the Indian Embassy at Kuwait and Indian entrepreneurs based there, they could return to India safely.

The fine amount and cost of ticket of the eight persons was met by Bharathiya Pravasi Parishad and Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association - Karnataka Chapter The other three are from Tamil Nadu. Their fine and ticket cost were met by a businessman named Elangovan, said NRI entrepreneur Mohandas Kamath.

A lesson to all young job aspirants. Think twice before leaving the country for GCC countries, especially Kuwait & KSA. Also ensure that you travel legally with employment contracts duly approved and authenticated by the respective Indian Embassies / Consulates.
