Mumbai, Jun 29: The girl students have achieved greater success as compared to boys, in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination held for the academic year 2008 -09, recently, as is evident from the result the state Secondary Education Board announced on Thursday June 25. The state achieved an average of 84.29 percent result and across the metro, it was 85.30 percent. While Sonali Chavan bagged the first rank, Sevali Bhandalkar and Tejal Pradhan bagged second and third rank respectively.
S M Shetty High School under Bunts Sangh, bagged cent percent result this year too, with the majority of its students having passed the examination with distinctions and first classes, informed Bunts Sangh secretary, chartered accountant I R Shetty. Sri Nityanand Kannada Free Night High School, Ghatkopar secured cent percent results while Karnataka Free Night High School, Worli secured 63 percent result, informed Bhaskar M Shetty.
Karnataka Kannada Medium High School, Chembur achieved a pass percentage of 95.44 percent, with Karishma Poojary securing the highest marks of 88.92 percent. In addition, their English Medium School recorded 95.67 percent results while Vinuta Madival secured 91.07 percent, informed honorary chief secretary Ranjan Kumar R Amin.
Kannada Bhavan Society-managed Kannada School, Fort registered 51 percent result while Swati Sundar Devadiga got 84 percent marks. She is the first in the history of the school to get such high marks, informed honorary chief secretary Shekar M Amin.
Vidya Prasarak Mandal-managed V P M Kannada Medium School, Mulund (East) here, bagged 76.25 percent, with Chaitra D Shetty of their Kannada Medium School passing the examination with 79.07 percent and topping the school. Raghavendra Ganiga, with 76.15 percent marks, stood second. Their Kannada Medium School secured cent percent results while Anish Acharya secured 94.92 percent, informed honorary chief secretary Professor P M Kamath.
National Kannada Education Society-managed Kannada Medium High School, Wadala, secured cent percent result while Shweta Devadiga of the Kannada Medium School secured 88 percent marks and stood first. Their Kannada medium school registered a pass percentage of 99, while Sheikh Abdul Gafoor secured 87 percent, informed School head teacher Saroja Rao.
Sri Adishakti Kannada School, Majiwada, Thane secured 92.30 percent result, while Renuka Biradar secured 86.61 percent and stood first. Six students passed with distinction, five obtained first class and 13 passed with second class, informed School headmaster Loknat Jain and secretary Shankar Shetty.
Billava Association-managed Sri Narayan Guru Kannada Medium High School that functions in the premises of the municipal School, located at Prabhat Colony, Santacruz (East), secured 86 percent result, informed Association honorary chief secretary Nityanand D Kotian.
Rayan International School owned St Xavier’s High School, Borivali (East), secured 99.77 percent result while Kadam Suruji bagged 92.61 percent marks. He stood first in the school. The Kannadiga students too have excelled in studies, informed School head teacher Marriet Fernandes.
