Mangaluru, Sep 1: Dr Harsha P S, commissioner of police of the city, has given an offer of self-employment to rowdy sheeters, who show good behaviour, to convert their life and come into the mainstream of the society. He had a discussion in this regard with the officials of ITI and entrepreneurs on Saturday, August 31.

The commissioner of police had interaction with Giridhara Salian, principal of ITI, Centre for Entrepreneurship, Pradeep, officer of Opportunity and Learning Organization and Tharanath, district skills officer. The commissioner asked the officials to form a plan as to how the rowdy sheeter, who changes the behaviour, can be either employed or self-employed.

Dr Harsha P S informed that discussion was held to train the uneducated former rowdies in welding profession and educated ones in IT related jobs.

The commissioner of police had offered unique gift to the rowdy sheeters on August 28 in a bid to encourage them to change their life and come into the mainstream of the society. This offer is applicable to rowdies, who present themselves at the police stations every Monday for a period of six months, sign the register and give a comprehensive report on the activities of the previous week.

It is a irony that these Government officials never ask their own Government for help (Which they are sure will never be fulfilled ) and instead they want private help which is sad.

Dr. Harsha ....why cant you train them in the jail itself..????? Learning welding or ITI related subjects in the jail is not a rocket science.

What a kind thought on the part of The Commissioner of Police Dr. Harsha to reform the crime mongers and help them, to start a new life.

The commissioner of police has indeed offered an unique gift to the rowdy sheeters in an attempt to encourage them to change their lives and come into the mainstream of the society. He has made this offer applicable to rowdies, who present themselves at the police stations every Monday for a period of six months, and register and give a comprehensive report on the activities of the previous week.

Kudos to Dr. Harsha on his attempt to reform bad elements.
