Bahrain, Jul 4: Karnataka Social Club-Bahrain inaugurated its annual children's summer camp on Thursday July 2, with a wide array of performances by the summer camp participants.

President of the Club, Maxim Sequeira, officially inaugurated the two-month long camp by cutting the ribbon, followed by an inaugural address. The general secretary then explained to the audience, about the activities proposed to be conducted during the camp.

In the activities, stress has been laid on outdoor sports like throwball and kho kho. Indoor activities like table tennis and fun-time games have also been given a fair share.

The summer camp has, over the years, become an annual event that draws boys and girls in the age group of four to fifteen years. The camp is held every Friday between 4 and 7 pm and is mostly handled by the ladies wing of the Club. The activity also draws the support of volunteers who on their own, come forward to help the children.  Every year, about 75 children take part in the camp. In view of the fact that the camp is gaining in popularity and the number of children joining the camp has been rising steadily over the years, the organizers expect that the participation will be higher this year.
