New Delhi, Sep 13: On Thursday, CBI arrested a Home Ministry official under the accusations of offering a bribe. The accused official allegedly offered over Rs 2 crore to a senior CBI officer to influence a case.

The accused identified as Dheeraj Kumar Singh works as section officer in the ministry of Home Affairs. After the offer was made, CBI was notified the same who then laid a trap for Singh's arrest. Along with Singh, another individual by the name Dinesh Chand Gupta was also arrested. The duo had over Rs 16 lac in their possession, when they came to make the payment.

After the arrest took place, the CBI searched the residence of the duo and found incriminating documents. The agency is now conducting a thorough investigation in the case.

    No wonder opposition party leaders are arrested but no cases are coming up pertaining to those in ruling party. Home Ministry and CBI booth are hand-in-glove.
