Mangalore: Bribe from Iron Ore Trucks - Four Port Officials in CBI Net

Mangalore, Jul 13: A team of eight Central Bureau of Investigation officials that arrived from Bangalore, reportedly apprehended four officials of  New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT)and Customs department, on the charge of collecting bribe from the trucks carrying iron ore, in a surprise raid. The team is said to have arrived in the city on a complaint by the owners of the trucks carrying iron ore, about the demand for hefty bribe being made by the officials for allowing the ore trucks to enter the local port.  The surprise raid was conducted at around 5.30 am on Saturday July 11.

NMPT assistant transport officers Buvanendra and Purushottam besides Vasudev and Satish of the customs department, who were on duty at the Silver Jubilee Gate of NMPT, were held by the CBI. The officials found about Rs 15,000 in their possession. The investigations progressed till 12 pm and the CBI officials handed over the details of the investigation to NMPT.

NMPT is expected to take action against the said officials.

    The Iron ore Trade in Mangalor started from 1999, There are more crimnel issue the the present. This trade Mafiya head is in our state cabnat, even the state investigation body like LOKAYUKTH IS not able to solve any thin . This is just one small incedent with in the family.

    Very good job by CBI. here some blames CBI also.they blame Karnataka police Dept. Govt. of India, Govt. Karnataka, Govt. Officers. according to them they only straight follower. whom they will trust God knows.

    This is a mafia... there are lots of people involved....every on at Mangalore know this mafia..but i think CBI came to know only now??!!!. This is only game.. the main culprits are still ruling our state...every one involved...when there is problem while sharing some one will be being caught... how we can expect good social life??     Its all political drama. Do you think these CBI officers are not corrupt. They are more corrupt because they handle sensational and mysterious cases. CBI is one of the most corrupt institution India. When other officers loyalty can be bought for thousands and lakhs, these CBI officers loyalty is sold for crores. Thats the difference.

    But these trucks laden with ore come from Bellary,on the way policemen mint money from them and inturn they violate road rules.Lot of accidents and death of innocent people because of the mining traffic.Which authority will check and put fullstop for this problem.

    Can you imagine we are giving our natural resource to other countries to manufacture steel, thereby we are responsible for creating job Opportunities for other countries,and unemployment in our own place. Why cant the administration use our KIOCL to produce steel of these ore and generate employment.As some one righly said this is all POLITICAL MAFIA behind this business.Really frustrating, bad roads, accidents.....

DUE TO THIS ALL OUR ROADS & ENVIRONMENT GOT SPOILED. EVERYDAY TRUCKS CARRYING IRON ORE KILLS INNOCENT PEOPLE ON ROAD. TRUCK OWNERS NEVER INSTALL SPEED GOVERNOR. WHO IS GOING TO CATCH TRUCK OWNERS?

    First of all we should stop selling iron ore as it is not really making profit to any one except the mining owners, instead of that we should use the ore and prepare steel and that steel has to be exported.Our karnataka govt is running due to reddy bro''s who own these mining companies.
