Bengaluru, Oct 3: On Monday, a senior manager in a software company had a rather unpleasant Ola experience when she was on her way back to her home from the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). On reaching India from her Colombo flight, the woman hired an Ola to take her to her Indiranagar home.

As per the woman, the Ola driver was taking a suspicious route than the one she advised him to take. The 32-year-old woman claimed the driver was not taking the usual route via tolled NH-44. He instead was driving towards the Begur Road. When the woman advised him to turn around and take the tolled road, the driver answered saying he would only follow the map. She repeatedly asked the driver to change the route as there is no highway and NH-44 is the right way.

Earlier, a Kolkata model had faced a similar fate which ended with her death. Recalling the incident and the eerie zone around her, the woman pressed the emergency button on the app. Meanwhile, the cab driver called his supervisor and claimed the woman was inebriated and hindering him from following the map.

It was then that the driver dropped the woman in the middle of nowhere at 3.30 am, one of the several incidents where the cab drivers have acted unprofessionally.

Moments later, the woman's friend came to pick her up after she called him and explained her ordeal.

On Monday evening, after the unfateful set of events, the woman submitted a statement at the KIA police station. Narrating her incident, the woman alleged that the driver did not even drop her back to the airport, instead, left her behind on the poorly lit highway. To escape an ill fate she pressed the emergency button, which followed a support call where they claimed to connect her to the supervisor but hung up soon after.

Realising the gravity of the situation, the Police have stated that they have asked Ola to not let the drivers take Begur Road for security concerns.
