Bangalore: SSLC Question Paper Pattern to Change in 2010

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SB)

Bangalore, Aug 12: The pattern of question papers in the final examinations for Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) is all set to change in 2010.

The meeting of the officials of the education department on Monday August 10 decided to change the pattern whereby emphasis will be laid on descriptive answers rather than objective type answers. Out of 100 marks, 25 marks will be allotted to objective-type questions and the remaining for essay-type questions.

Earlier, in 2008-09 examinations, 40 marks were allotted for descriptive-type answers and 60 for objective-type.

It''s great to know about commitee''s new pattern for SSLC.This not only makes the students to go through the lessons and chapters thoroughly but also learn to write long answers which very much helps them in future for higher degrees and even Competitive Exams.I really appreciate Govt''s initiative in this respect.

Its funny to expect the better performance and godd educational Standard in SSLC Exam by the students after compulsarily pushing or "Promoting" them to higher classes every year from primary level, because of Departmental Rule. When this type of educational policy of the govt. students were finding it very easy to get through the new pattern of SSLC exam.

Now again if the pattern is changed and objective type of questions are reduced to 25, from existing 60 questions, Teachers and managements of the schools should prepare themselves for a record low percentage in the next result. Ofcourse the students will be the worst sufferers. Changing the policy every now and then will serve no purpose exept ruining the student''s future.

These Exam''s are conducted just to find out what the student''s dont know. After stuyding the whole subject the qestions asked will not be able to answer. If they really wanted to know what the students know they could just tell write 10 questions and answers from the subject.
