Bahrain: Sanskara Group wins 'Mera Bharath Mahan' Singing Contest

Bahrain, Aug 16: Kasaragod District Pravasi Association (KDPA) Bahrain organized “Mera Bharath Mahaan” patriotic singing competition held at the Karnataka Social Club on 14th August 2009 at 8.00pm.The competition consist of group of 5 singers with 7 minutes duration per song, and there were 7 associations participated India’s 62nd Independence Day singing competition.

Sateesh Edaneer president of KDPA along with other committee members welcomed Ajay Kumar, first secretary of Indian Embassy, Bahrain and John Iype Chairman of C.C.I.A. to the main hall followed by a prayer song by KDPA ladies wing and children with patriotic dance.

The president escorted Ajay Kumar, John Iype, Unnikrishnan Chairman of Voice FM Radio Bahrain, Rajeevan-Managing director of Asianet Bahrain and Doomannarai to the dias.Vice chairman Velayudhan delivered Independence Day Message and Balachandran Konnakad felicitated for his poem book called-“Gulf Malayali Kavilthakal” published by ‘Kerala Shithya Academy’. Sateeh Edaneer in his speech informed that they have given school uniform to 112 students in Edaneer School Kasaragod and scholarship given to many students from Kasargod district. He thanked all the dignitaries, sponsors. Ajay Kumar,John Iype,Unnikrishnan,Rajeevan gave their speech on account of 62nd  Independence Day Celebrations.
























































After the felicitation, the competition for patriotic songs were begun.There were 7 organizations took part in the competition. The theme of the competition was “Mera Bharat Mahaan”.

1] Kannada Sangha Bahrain.
2] Telegu Christin Congregation.
3] Kasaragod District Pravasi Association-Bahrain.
4] Sanskara Thrissur.
5] Manama Temple.
6] Al Hilal Hospital.
7] Indian Club.

The competition was so tough and the judges were Vani Krishnan, Nafjaad,  Vijaya Satya  Narayana found very difficult to choose the best of three winners and accordingly the results were declared as follows:-

1st place to Sanskara Trissur for their “Bharatha Hridhaya Vipanchiyilunarum”.

2nd place went to Kannada Sangh Bahrain for their “Jai Bharathi” Song and they dressed so well with traditional Coorgi costumes.

3rd place went to Kasaragod district Pravasi Association for their “Dharama Veera Hai Hum”.

During the break time “Mera Vathan” patriotic group song dance performed by Lakshmish Kotekar and ”Hey Wathan” song was enterained by Asif Mohd, Vanitha Reynolds Arun Roy. Feena Christhoper and Lincy Augustine of Al Hilal Hospital group which was appreciated and applauded by the audience.

The prize distribution was done by the president and the three Judges. More than 500 people attended the function.
The whole show was anchored by Chetana Rajendra Hegde.She was a Lecturer in Nitte Institute for ten years and at present she is working for Al-Noor International School. She is a good in dancer and well know actress.

The programme ended at 11.00pm.
