Bengaluru, Nov 20: Veteran JD(S) leader and MLC Basavaraj Horatti, met chief minister, B S Yediyurappa at the latter's residence at Dollars Colony here. This incident came as a surprise for many as it happened at a time when the parties are locked in a fight for supremacy in the bypoll.
Horatti reached Yediyurappa's residence on Tuesday and held talks with him for some time. Although there is a notion that they would have discussed the current political situation, Horatti refused to say what transpired between them.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Horatti said that he had met Yediyurappa in the latter's capacity as the chief minister of the state. He said he had come on some work and added that there is no need to give special significance to it.
In response to a question, he said that the government will not fall after the bypoll. He said that no one is interested in pre-empting the fall of the government and therefore even after the bypoll, the government will be stable.
"There was discontentment about the way Kumaraswamy handled us during the period the coalition government was in office. He has now spoken to us and asked us to forget the past. Therefore, the anger of MLCs of the party has died down. We have been pacified like offering chocolates to crying babies. We are now happy," he explained.
