Ajit's decision to support BJP is his personal, not that of NCP - Sharad Pawar

Mumbai, Nov 23 (IANS): Nationalist Congress Party Sharad Pawar on Saturday said that the move by the NCP Group Leader in Maharashtra Legislature to form a government with the Bharatiya Janata Party was "his personal decision and not of the NCP".

"We place on record that we do not support or endorse this decision of his," Sharad Pawar said, indicating a vertical split in the NCP, though the complete details are yet to emerge.

BJP state President Chandrakant Patil said that Ajit Pawar has the support of at least 15 MLAs, plus there are others and independents which will give the BJP alliance support of around 160 legislators.

"All the supporting legislators shall have a meeting on Sunday afternoon in Mumbai," he added.

Pawar Senior is likely to address a press conference on Saturday later to give further details and even on his talks with the Sena leaders since the political landscape changed in the morning.

Meanwhile, NCP state President Jayant Patil said Ajit Pawar had expressed even late on Friday that "the discussions were dragging on for too long" though a final breakthrough was expected on Saturday after the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress unanimously approved Sena President Uddhav Thackeray as the next Chief Minister.

Same strategy used by Mr H.D.Devegowda when Mr Kumar Swamy joined hands with the BJP in Karnataka to form the Government. After few months Mr HDD gave his blessings to his CM Son saying he giving good governance. Now Pawar is distancing himself from Ajit's decision. Congress has been royally fooled.

The real reason will be known if the bank account of Ajit Pawar is checked. In Karnataka, 53 deposits above 90 lacs were made in the bank account of MTB Nagaraj, disqualified MLA of Congress who is now contesting as BJP candidate during the time when the legislators ran to Mumbai under the direction of daku shah.

Ajit Pawar has bagged a good booty of not less than 1000 crores.

    Jai everyone and everything.

Does not the Rule of taking oath under party that elected them apply here? What is the fun of people contesting under the umbrella of Party and then negotiate support for the highest bidder?

Anything is possible in Indian politics. Since the ruling party at the center has powerful tools like CBI, ED, and the Governor, it is easy to get the required number of MLAs.
Ajith Pawar had serious cases of corruption against him as mentioned earlier by BJP leaders. Now he has become clean. If the CBI and ED withdraw those charges or go slow in their investigation, the clever people of the country will clearly know what was the "deal". Shameless leaders.
They had tried similar tactics in Karnataka with DKS but he did not yield to the pressure.

BJP goes any extent in clinging on to power. But all the perfumes of Arabia cannot wash away this sin. Unfortunatec that Some people are projecting this as a masterstroke. It is in fact a dirty game played to marginalise Shiv Sena & people of Maharashtra will never forgive those who committed this grievous mistake

The word "master stroke /dirty game" depends on which side you are. Ppl of Maharashtra chosen Fadnvis to be the CM for 2nd term and ppl wishes r full filled. It is as simple as that. Now coming to ur perfume of Arabian sea can't clean anybody depends on I dividual thinking. You r not the judge ppl have shown by ballot whom they want to be the leader.
