Mangaluru: Panambur registers highest temperature in country

Mangaluru, Nov 25: Since the last some days, heat has been becoming unbearable in Karnataka coast. On Saturday November 23, Panambur recorded 37 degree Celsius, the highest in the country for the day. This was 4.2 degree higher than normal. On Sunday, the temperature reached 36.6 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature stood at 22.8 degree. 

Temperature recorded at the airport here on Saturday was 34.4 degree maximum and 23.9 degree minimum.

The meteorological department has predicted about the possibility of moderate rainfall in southern interior Karnataka on November 27 and 28, The coastal districts went without rainfall on Sunday and largely experienced hot weather. Some places in coast and rural places in interior Karnataka had cloudy weather on Sunday but there is no report of any rain anywhere.

    It's shocking that Mangluru recorded the highest temperature in India; shudder to think how the ensuing summer will be??

    The same phenomenon was observed last yeartoo Mangluru has lost majority greencover, population has increased manifold, it's become a concrete jungle

    May be main cause is Mangalore surroundings so many Chemical industry harmful smokes effected to ozone layer further it will effected to increasing humidity and temperature also roadside natural trees removed all those things effected to temperature.

    Is that due to many Industries in and around Panambur area including baikampady industrial area ?
    Heat combined with humidity OMG !
    Beginning of worse days ahead.

    4.2 degrees higher than the normal is an anomaly. Recheck the thermometer.

    congrats to all ....deforestation and construction in the name of development gave us such a huge temperature this is just a start wait for the end . w e people can only talk on mandir - masjid any how enjoy it
