KSRTC bus overturns in Hassan - Youth from Bantwal dies, 25 injured

Hassan, Nov 25: In a tragic incident that occurred at Hirisave of Channarayapatna taluk of the district a youth from Bantwal died on the spot when the KSRTC bus in which he was travelling toppled.

Abhishek (28), son of Ugrappa Moolya, a resident of Mani of Bantwal is the unfortunate victim, who lost his life in the incident. He had boarded the bus at Mani on the night of Sunday and lost his life on the early morning of Monday.

Abhishek had got a job in a private bank in Bengaluru and was supposed to join duty today. His family had recently shifted to Bengaluru. The family had come to native place of Bantwal to attend the marriage of one of their relative. Abhishek was returning to Bengaluru, after partaking in the marriage programme, along with his younger brother. His brother is also injured in the incident and is being treated in the hospital at Bellur.

Abhishek was an alumnus of Sri Rama School Kalladka.

This mishap took place on national highway 75 of Bengaluru-Mangaluru route. The bus was plying from Mangaluru to Bengaluru on the night of Sunday. As the bus was approaching Hirisave, the driver of the bus lost control and it swayed and fell on an Innova car which was plying by its side.

There were 45 passengers in the bus. 25 people are injured in the accident. They are admitted to Adichunchanagiri hosptial of Bellur.

    Very frequently KSRTC buses overturn. I am hearing these overturn accidents of KSRTC once in month or once in 2 months. Please investigate and rescue lives.

    Our traffic police department does not punish the idiots who use high beam lights unnecessarily.
    high beam lights causes temporary blindness which results in fatal accidents.Must ban high beam lights. Resi in peace bro.
