Mumbai, Nov 25: Mumbai drama lovers will get a rare opportunity to swim in the ocean of comedy for the first time of its kind. After staging nine house full shows in Dubai, Kinnigoli, Udupi, Abu Dhabi, Miyar, Alangaar, Mangaluru, Muscat and at St Mary’s Church, Dubai, successful Konkani comedy drama ‘Vechogi Raavncho’ by ‘Saangon Mugdana Kalakar’ under the leadership of ‘Konkani Haasy Raay Kunvar’ Pradeep Barboza Paladka, is all set to entertain again with two back-to-back shows in Mumbai. Thus, Mumbai theatre lovers will get an opportunity to watch Pradeep Barboza’s drama for the first time in Mumbai.
It will be a complete Christmas gift in advance for the audience of Mumbai. The shows are scheduled on November 30 and December 1. First show will be on November 30 at 6.30 pm at St Thomas Marthoma Church Hall, Suyog Nagar, Vasai (West).
The second show will be held on December 1 at 6.30 pm at St Jude Church Ground, Jerimeri, on the occasion of silver jubilee celebration of Maharashtra Konkan Association.
Both the shows will be jointly presented by Maharashtra Konkan Association and Vasai Konkani Welfare Association, who are very active and popular associations of Mumbai.
The story of the drama revolves around a bus stop and two shops attached to it in rural Mangalore. The drama is a blend of family and love story, comedy and suspense. The script takes interesting turns when nearing the climax and makes the audience to anticipate alternate endings. The drama is written and directed by ‘Konkani Haasy Raay Kunvar’ Pradeep Barboza, Paladka. Apart from Pradeep Barboza himself, versatile actors, Melwyn D’Almeida (Babuti fame), Godwin Castelino, Roystan Kiran D’Souza, Vernon D’Souza, Paul D’Souza, Nanu Marol Thottam, Helvin Barboza, Laveena Fernandes and Venicia Rodrigues will be performing in the drama. Wonderful music is rendered by Frankith Mascarenhas Niddodi.
Main coordinator of Saangon Mugdhana Kalakar Team, Diany D’Souza said, “Our team is more than happy to perform in front of our Mumbai crowd for the first time. We have received tremendous response from the audience during our shows in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Mangaluru and Muscat. Both organizers in Mumbai have confirmed that there is a huge demand for entry passes and without any doubt all two shows will witness a houseful crowd. Definitely this drama will go into history of Konkani dramas as one of the best entertained and crowd puller drama. We are receiving requests to play more shows of this drama in Mumbai and Mangaluru regions, but due to our members’ pre-commitments and busy work schedule, we are not in a position to give dates to our ever loving prospective organizers.”
All actors will be flying from Dubai especially for this drama to give a perfect treat to Mumbai drama lovers.
Both the organizers have requested the Konkan community of Mumbai to attend this auspicious event in large numbers on time by reserving their seats and enjoy the entertaining evening.
