Dubai: 'World Kannada Cultural Convention' in November

Dubai, Sep 3: Karnataka Sangha Dubai is a socio-cultural, non-political and non-religious organization founded in the year 1985, to promote rich and diverse heritage, culture, art and literature of Karnataka. Serving of Kannadigas residing in the UAE, by bringing all the Kannadigas under one roof to share their common cultural ties and for creating unity under a common platform has also been one of the primary objectives of the Sangha.

On the occasion of the golden jubilee celebration (Suvarna Karnataka) year of the state in the year 2005, Kannada Sangha, Dubai had won the 'Suvarna Rajyotsava Award. The Sangha will be celebrating 25th year of its presence in Dubai, the city of gold. The celebrations will extend through the year 2009 and 2010, and organizing the sixth World Kannada cultural convention - 2009, Dubai will be a major initiative of the Sangha in this respect.

In association with 'Hrudayavahini' magazine, Mangalore, Karnataka Sangha, Dubai will be hosting the sixth World Kannada Cultural Convention - 2009 on the 20th and 21st of November 2009, at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School, Dubai. The event is being held to highlight and showcase the rich literary and cultural heritage of Karnataka to the world. This will be the sixth annual edition of the world Kannada cultural conventions being held regularly since the year 2004.  Hrudayavahini magazine has also been hosting the events in the Gulf and Singapore, in association with the local Kannada associations.

This two-day convention is expected to be attended by five to six thousand Kannadigas out of about 40,000 Kannadigas living in the UAE. This mega event is sure to give a wider coverage and excellent publicity to the sponsors in and outside UAE.

    Karnataka is one of the promoted State for art, heritage, culture and literature etc.,when UAE Kannada Sangha hold up to support these Culture, really it is worth for us to learn about ancient one instead of current age, example Karnataka classical songs, best medicine for mind. Best luck for the forthcoming ''Convention''.
