Mangalore: Traffic Diversion in City on Account of 'Mosaru Kudike’ Procession

Mangalore, Sep 12: Some changes have been affected for the vehicular movement in the city on the evening of Saturday September 12, as 'Mosaru Kudike' processions are being organized as per tradition, in some of the city roads.

One of the processions will begin at Kadri Lord Gopalakrishna Temple at 5 pm and move via Kadri Kambla, Kadri Ground and Mallikatte arch. The vehicular movement on these roads and the one leading to Kadri Temple has been banned during this period.

The Attavar Mosaru Kudike procession will begin from Koti Chennaya Circle at 6 pm and move via Nandigudde and KMC to reach Attavara Katte. During the procession, all vehicular traffic on this road has been banned.

The procession of Ashok Nagar will start from Kottara Srikrishna Mandir and move towards Ashok Nagar by taking a right turn at Urwa Store. All the vehicles including heavy vehicles that enter the city through Kottara during this period, should take Kuntikan-KPT and Nantoor route, said district superintendent of police Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao.

All the liquor shops located within the jurisdiction of all the police stations within the city sub-division besides those within Panambur sub-division, Bajpe, City Rural and Ullal police stations have been ordered to remain closed from 3 pm on September 12 to 6 am on September 13, he added.
