Udupi: Dr V S Acharya Inaugurates New Bus Stand at Parkala

The new bus stand constructed at a cost of Rs 9.9 lac at Parkala, near here, by the town council, was inaugurated on Saturday September 19 by district in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Acharya said that Rs 12.50 crore has been sanctioned for undertaking road work from Kadiyali to Manipal and the work is under progress. 



“Manipal University will lay the road from Manipal to Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) while the town council will carry out road work from MIT to Atrady in the next phase.  State funds are available for development work and the town council should utilize them judiciously”, he added.
 
Councilor Dinakar Shetty presided over the programme.
 
MLA Raghupathy Bhat, taluk Urban Development Authority president B Sudhakar Shetty, ZP member Upendra Nayak, council member Sumitra R Nayak, PWD executive engineer Suresh Shetty, Herga Srinivas Tantri, and Parkala Srinivas Upadhyaya were present on the occasion.
 
Town commissioner Gokuldas Nayak welcomed the gathering while Vasanti Shetty compered the programme.
