DGCA issues notice to over 150 GoAir pilots for FDTL violations

New Delhi, Jan 7 (IANS): Civil aviation regulator DGCA has issued notices to over 150 GoAir pilots and the airline's Head of operations for Flight Duty Time Limits (FDTL) violations after it conduct an audit of the passenger carrier.

In aviation parlance, the FDTL mandates a maximum of eight hours of continuous duty for the air crew.

"More than 150 pilots have been issued warning for violating FDTL norms. They have been found to have been found to be on duty beyond for more consecutive nights than mandated, not availing weekly rest, base mismatch amongst others," a source told IANS on Tuesday.

"Airline's Head of Operations has also been issued a notice for base mismatch."

On its part, GoAir acknowledged the fact that is in receipt of the notice from the DGCA, following a FDTL audit.

"The airline is in contact with the DGCA and will be submitting a response in due course," a GoAir Spokesperson said.

"GoAir respects the observations made by the regulator and will take appropriate actions to abide by the directives."
