VHP for action on Kerala Tourism's beef dish tweet

New Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS): The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has criticised a Kerala Tourism advertisement that showcased beef Ularthiyathu, as part of Kerala's identity, on the day of auspicious Hindu festival Makar Sankranti.

"Is this tweet meant for promoting tourism or promoting beef? Isn't it hurting sentiments of crores of cow worshipers? Is this tweet generated from the pious land of Shankaracharya," tweeted VHP National Spokesperson Vinod Bansal.

"The @KeralaTourism must understand that u can't promote anything by hurting religious sentiments of millions of its own tourists worshipping cows," it said and also tagged Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel, demanding action against it.

The Kerala Tourism on Wednesday tweeted a photograph of beef Ularthiyathu, a signature Kerala dish, to promote tourism.

The tweet read: "Tender chunks of beef, slow-roasted with aromatic spices, coconut pieces, and curry leaves. A recipe for the most classic dish, beef Ularthiyathu, the stuff of legends, from the land of spices, Kerala."

in Kerala VHP and RSS cannot dictate terms like Karnataka. People are well educated and know in and out of politics.

When it comes to eating beef, there is no religion in Kerala. 90% of Hindus in Kerala relish beef.

By the way this dish is really mouth watering.

As Jossey said in his comment, if you are that much worried about beef, first ban beef exports, the industry, which is totally controlled by gujjus and marwaris.

Shastra is only for others and not for businessmen!! Hypocrisy at its best

"Is this tweet meant for promoting tourism or promoting beef?
Answer: In fact it is both...attract tourists by highlighting the culture, tradition and local delicacies. Any problem?
Isn't it hurting sentiments of crores of cow worshipers?
Answer: Can't help you if you choose to get hurt at every little thing....we don't stop to exist because you get hurt.
Better focus on more urgent and real issues and just allow them to eat what they want...

What about the sentiments of the beef eaters ??
Beef eating population is 100 times more than cow worshippers in this world..
So, beef eaters and cow worshippers should not mess with each other. Rather respect each other.
