Mangalore, Oct 3: The students of Mount Carmel Central School celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi  on October 2, 2009.

Class VIII students led the entire school in a devout prayer service bringing out the values held high by Mahatma Gandhi. Then the tiny tots sang an action song depicting the 3 monkeys of Gandhi  bringing out the value of listening, seeing and hearing only that which is good. The lesson went home to the students that they should practice this value in their daily life.

The school children saluted Mahatma Gandhi through their well planned speeches in the regional language Kannada, National language Hindi and also in English. Patriotic singing and patriotic dance for the song Mera Mulk Mera desh and Navu Barathiyaru were the other items put up by the students.

It was a short but sweet programme organized by them to remember the Father of the nation on this auspicious day.
