Mangalore, Oct 14: “Universities and the colleges teach various subjects but there is a lack of courses on living in harmony and on living life on an equal footing in society”, said Sri Esha Vittaldas Swami of Sandipani Math in Kemaru at the ‘Eid-Souharda Koota’ at Shanthi Nilaya organized by the youth wing of Jamath-e-Islami Hind on  Tuesday October 13.

Speaking on the occasion, the Swamiji said that education is the base for all. “Living in harmony is something that comes from proper education. So, it is essential for the universities and colleges to add a subject on life to strengthen the society without hatred between communities”, he added.

“The people in this district are recognized as Tuluvas rather than Hindu, Muslim, or Christian. The bifurcation in the name of religion has changed now and the relationship between the communities has strengthened”, said the Swamiji.

Fr Ronny Prabhu, director, Fathima Retreat House, said that living life by understanding everyone’s life and his sentiments will lead to a peaceful society. “Society means a family of members who live in mutual understanding and respect”, he added.

Ahmed Hajee Mohiyuddin, chairman, Mohiyuddin Education Trust, said that all the religions teach to live in harmony and one who respects the neighbour and another person’s sentiments is a follower of God. He added that God is one and the entire world is one family.

Mohammed Kunhi, president of Jamath-e-Islami Hind youth wing, presided over the function.

Dear Pejawar shree, please listen to what this swami says. I respect this swami. We need religious heads who blend hearts, who make peace and lead as role models like this swami and late Admar Swami. I am deeply touched and influenced by the philosophy of late Admar Shree. He is mortally dead but he has made his memoirs in the hearts of millions of people. My family is grateful and indebted to late Admar shree. We look forward to see equal minded religious heads sharing the same podium and preaching for communual harmony.
