St Aloysius Gonzaga School, under the aegis of St Aloysius Institutions of Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society is co-educational day school, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Delhi, spread over sprawling 36.29 acres of land with pristine surroundings and world famous Chapel; worth paintings and murals, the only one in India, painted by the Italian Master Painter, Brother Antonio Mouscheni SJ and is located in the heart of Mangaluru city.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten

The institution aims to give children, the best possible beginning to their education. It is in the early years of a child that the foundation for all future learning is laid. Children learn more in the first five years of their lives than they ever do. They learn to explore their world through play in all areas of learning. Parents’ support is vital to their progress.

Early Education

First grade is very important year of the school. It is the year where children learn many important basic concepts that will benefit them for the rest of their time at school. If parents support their children in first grade, he or she is sure to make excellent progress in all areas of learning.

Assessment and Testing

Throughout their time at St Aloysius Gonzaga School, students’ progress is assessed and tracked in a variety of ways. In addition to this, children from classes one to five are regularly assessed with periodic and term assessments and children from classes sixth to tenth are assessed by three periodic assessments and one final examination throughout the year in reading, writing, spelling, mathematics, science, social science and other subjects. At the end of the second term the child will receive an annual report which will also include their assessment results. The school periodically holds ‘Open House’ for parents to discuss children’s progress. However, there is no need for the parents to wait for this if they have a problem. Parents are welcome to meet their child’s teachers on Mondays and Wednesdays between 3 pm to 3.45 pm. On other days a prior appointment needs to be taken from the office of the school.

Parent-Teacher Association

Parent-teacher Association is an active organization, helping the management to guide the school to meet the needs of the students and society. All parents are its active members.

Requirement for Admission

The school is open for admission for both boys and girls irrespective of caste, creed and social status who are two and half years by May 31 for Pre-KG, three and half years for KG - 1 and five and half years for Class One.

Every pupil needs to produce the transfer certificate from a recognized school in case of seeking admission to class two and above. Original birth certificate from the City Corporation, if the child has not attended school before, needs to be submitted to the school. Four passport size photographs of the child need to be given to the institution.
