Kasargod, Oct 19: Hitesh (4), son of Nagesh from Anjaneya Nivas of Narayanmangala near Kumble here, died due to poisoning in a hospital here on Sunday October 18. The child's mother, Shalini (32), whose condition is critical, continues to be treated at the said hospital.
The two were admitted into a hospital here at around 7 pm on Friday in a serious condition. Shalini, who had mixed poison in juice, had consumed some of the juice before giving the rest to her son for drinking. The local people, who saw the two in a serious condition, had admitted the duo to a local hospital.
The boy was a student in Anganwadi. In a statement made to the local policemen, Shalini disclosed that she sought recourse to this extreme step, as she had of late, developed a strong suspicion about her husband having an illicit relationship.
