Hassan: Bizarre - Groom absconds as parents disapprove bride's saree

Bengaluru, Feb 8 (IANS): A Karnataka groom walked out of marriage after his family disapproved the quality of the saree worn by the bride in Hassan, an official said on Friday.

B.N. Raghukumar, 29, from a village near Hassan, is currently absconding as he did not to show up to marry the girl he fell in love with, acting on the directions of his parents. The incident took place on Wednesday.

"We have registered a cheating case against Raghukumar. He is absconding," Hassan Superintendent of Police Srinivas Gowda told IANS.

Gowda said the family members of Raghukumar have also been booked in the cheating case for cancelling the wedding.

Raghukumar and B.R. Sangeetha fell in love a year ago and decided to get married with the consent of their respective families.

However, Raghukumar's parents asked Sangeetha to change her saree during some rituals as they were not happy with its quality.

Following this dispute, the groom's parents cancelled the wedding scheduled on Thursday and directed their son to abscond.

a lesson for boys, once you decide to marry someone either through the route of love marriage or arranged marriage. I am sure by the time you decide to marry, you should know the girl, girls parents well.

And more important, if you are a educated boy from Hindu/Christian/Muslim/sikh/Jain and other community in India NEVER TAKE DOWRY, NEVER ASK FOR GOLD OR CAR OR APARTMENTS.
If you ever did all your education, and all your religious/spiritual values are going down the drain.
Take this decision, never be a papa or mamma's boy, now you are grown and take altruistic decisions your self.
Let me share a true story of a Christian boy, my best friend son, when his parents decided to get him married, they found a suitable bride like by boy and everyone else, agreed and decided on date of wedding, few days before the wedding boys uncle and aunty visited girls house without boys consent not his fathers and demanded gold and shocked at this girls parents were clueless as they were not so well to do. Somehow boy came to know about this through the girl whom he was in touch with as after the engagement they were allowed to talk over phone.

Next what happened made me shed few tears of joy...…… he went next early morning to girls house and met her mother and other relatives at house and without stepping inside, as I believe he is not supposed to visit her till the marriage vows got over. He told them NO NEED OF GOLD OR MONEY OR ANY LUXURY ITEM...…...JUST SEND HER WITH HER CLOTHS ONLY AND IF NEEDED HE WILL PAY FOR THE WEDDING COSTS TOO...….This is the true Indian a true hindu...a true muslim and a true viswa manava.

Marriage is a joke nor it is a temporary set up....it is a life long event and please note girls parents have spent lot of money, energy & done many sacrifices to get her educated and bring her up in a good way. And when the marriage times comes Boys parents and including boys stoop down so low that they forget all the spiritual/religious values. Wake up!!!

What consequence is outside clothing of, he should be more concerned about the soul inside!
You can imagine what sort of a family it is???

Marriages are a farce nowadays, only to fulfil societal expectations! Majority of them enjoy all the liberties of marriage much before & get married for formality purpose only!

A real and strong man is sincere and has firm decision. He cannot be stolen by other women. He does not cling to mother's apron.

The real man has nothing to hide, he will tell the truth of whatever the woman wants to know. Girls, look for such a man, who will love you, respect womanhood and wants to live with you through thick and thin.
