Mangaluru, Mar 6: The Women at Work social media group, which is a large group of over 5,000 women from all walks of life is holding one of the biggest ‘Women’s Festival’ in Mangaluru on March 7. The event will begin at 3 pm.
This extraordinary event will be held in the backdrop of one of the finest real estate ventures in Mangaluru at the Central Atrium of ‘NorthernSky City’ in Pumpwell. It is organised by the Women at Work jointly in association with ETC the branding firm and NorthernSky Properties.
The theme of the Femme Fest has a three-layered structure, Education, Entertainment and Shopping. But then the catchline is ‘Of women, By women and For women’ is apter. It will bring products from a few hundred women entrepreneurs onto the shelves in many categories right from food, fabrics, bakery items, handmade articles, bags, artificial jewellery, items from women managed small scale industries and many other products in lifestyle, hobbies and even gardening and kitchen management. Shopping will be a delight assures the organizers.
For those gourmets who would like to indulge, there will be a food court with a mind-boggling variety and spread, all managed by women. The slender promenades will take visitors to shops and food encased with the air-filled with laughter and giggles and to top it all an entertainment event produced and enacted by women are on the cards.
The highlight of the event will be the felicitations accorded to three great women of Mangaluru city who have blazed a trail in their own fields of social service.
The special women who will be honoured include Tabbasum of Snehadeep aids charity home. Tabbasum takes care of the children who are in need of nutrition, education and safety. She also takes care of the children isolated from the parents due to many reasons.
Rajani Shetty is that rare woman who shelters 40 stray and abandoned dogs and all of them are females. And all of them are in good health and wonderful spirits.
Corrine Rasquinha runs an old age home and has socially cured many elderly, homeless and separated individuals and given them lives of dignity. She herself has survived many adversities including life-threatening health issues.
