Mangaluru, Mar 6: As announced earlier, ‘Laudato Si' committee has already started campaign against suicide which was launched at all parishes in Mangaluru diocese on March 1, the first Sunday of Lent.

As a part of this campaign, the committee is holding ‘Happy Face Photo Contest’ for public. The main intention of this contest is to attract youth and others and bring awareness among them about the value of human life.

Any person above 12 years of age can participate in this contest by sending a face only photo, a selfie or photograph of oneself to the WhatsApp number - 7090449999, along with the name, date of birth and address. The committee will ensure that the photo is not misused.

The last date to send the photo is Thursday, April 30. The best and happiest face (Man and Woman) will be awarded Rs 10,000 each. The results will be announced before May 15.

This year has been proclaimed as 'Year of Life-2020' in Mangaluru diocese with the tagline - 'Human life is precious, care and protect it'. As part of the campaign, the committee is also taking initiatives like pledge, handbills, seminars and workshops, helpline support, yellow ribbon, and awareness in media against suicide.
