Church services suspended in Sharjah as precaution against Coronavirus

Sharjah, Mar 11: Church services have been suspended across Sharjah from March 12, until further orders, as part of a preventive and precautionary measure to reduce the possibility of spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

A memorandum has been issued to Churches by the Government of Sharjah as per directions from H E Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Manager of General Authority of Islamic Affairs (Sharjah Branch).

The memorandum requests parishioners to adhere to the instruction.

Earlier, the Kuwait government also had asked churches in the country to remain closed from March 1 to 14 due to the spread of the dreadful disease.
