Qatar, Nov 15: The first-ever ladies 'Evening out event' was organized by the Karnataka Sangha at the Mazza Restaurant near the airport here on Friday November 13 at 6.00 pm. The evening was attended by more than 100 people, mostly ladies.
Akshaya Shetty was the host for the evening. Roopa Pramod (KSQ ladies co-ordinator) welcomed the gathering which was followed by a welcome song sung by Janaki Ravi.
Speaking on the occasion, Shalini Fernandes proprietor of Tehran beauty parlour informed the need for personal grooming and also gave some beauty tips on how to keep one’s body healthy and smart.
Nikhila, who excels in the field of handicraft, demonstrated to the audience the use of debris as a material for handicrafts.
Interactive games were conducted by Milan Arun, handy tips were provided by Shilpa Mannangi and a Jolly Quiz was conducted by Suma Ashok.
The main attraction of the evening was a spicy art competition where household spices like mustard, chana dal, jeera, fenugreek, clove, pepper, masur dal, green dal and cardamom a were used to create an art within the 45 minutes given. The judges Milan Arun and Shalini Fernandes, had a tough time in deciding the winners. Sheetal Nayeem was declared as the winner while the 1st runner-up was Girija Kalyanshetti and the second runner-up was Rajashree. Early bird prize was bagged by Vani Shreepad.
Raffle draw was conducted by Roopa Pramod and Milan Arun. The event was sponsored by Shalini Fernandes, Nagesh Rao and Madan Manjeshwar (DOMASCO).
Sound System was provided by Srinivasa Rao. The vote of thanks was proposed by Hema Lakkappa which was followed by the dinner.
Arun Kumar K M, president of Karnataka Sangha was present on the occasion. The evening was co-ordinated by Roopa Pramod (ladies co-ordinator) with the active support and guidance from Milan Arun (advisor) and committee members, Shilpa Mannangi, Hema Lakkappa, Anuradha Rao and Suma Ashok.
