Mangalore, Nov 16: The city, most of the coastal Karnataka and Kasargod, apart from several hinterlands in malnad districts received heavy rain coupled with thunder and lightning, for about two hours from 6 pm on Sunday November 15.
Heavy rain was experienced also in Kadaba, Puttur, Uppingangdy,Nelyady, Kumbra, Bantwal, Mulki, Suratkal, Sullia etc. Most places in Udupi district reported heavy thunder showers, while Udupi, Manipal, Santhekatte, Brahmavar etc., got only light drizzle during this period. Places like Siddapur, Hallihole, Amasebail, Ampar etc., in Kundapur, which are located at the foot of the Western Ghats too got torrential rains. Agumbe and Sringeri also reported heavy rains.
The meteorological department has predicted rains to continue during the next two days in all the above areas.
