Mangaluru: Police warn people posting information about coronavirus patients, victims

Mangaluru, Apr 20: The police have noted that the photograph of a woman from Bantwal who became the victim of COVID 19 pandemic recently is being shared on social websites. They have said that providing any information about coronavirus infected patients or victims publicly is a punishable offence and warned that those who are found flouting the rules will be subjected to stringent legal action.

The department said that the police have started to put together information about the people indulging in posting and sharing of photo and other information about the lady and is initiating legal action against the concerned.

District superintendent of police of Dakshina Kannada district B M Laxmi Prasad has warned the people to forthwith stop posting of the photograph of the woman referred above, failing which he has warned the concerned of strict legal action.
