Bhatkal, Apr 21: Police personnel detained three people in Bhatkal for offering the namaz at Athar Mohalla, Abdul Rahim Athar mosque, Hebale gram panchayat limits on Monday, April 20, for violating lockdown regulations. They were released after they were marked 14-day quarantine seal on their hands.

People in the vicinity have alleged the police of being biased relating to the incident. Marakazi Jamatul Muslimeen Tenginagundi chief secretary Moulana Mohammed Iqbal Bangali said that they had not violated the lockdown order anytime. “We are following the orders of Tanzim and Wakf board and only three people were performing the namaz. More than three people are not allowed in the mosque at any time. Police personnel are harassing us on the pretext of lockdown violations,” he alleged.

SP Shivaprakash Devaraju was contacted over the phone seeking for clarifications on the matter. He said that there is no truth in the allegations by the people. “Performing namaz is not allowed in the mosque other than the appointed Imam and two other people. The three people detained by the police were not appointed in the mosque. Therefore, they have been sent home after warning. We are providing all the facilities in Bhatkal as far as possible,” he clarified.

As per reports, it is said that the Imams appointed in mosques of Bhatkal do not reside in close proximity to the mosques, therefore, the residents of the mohallas themselves perform the namaz. The incident had gone viral in social media and there is wide opposition against the police action.

What is required of us at this very critical time of our lives is ... without blaming each other, try and cooperate with the Government agencies such as Police, Health Care Personnel and social activists so that this virus is defeated and the world is still left for us to live.

This sickness has shown us that it is not choosing a Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddist or any other religion, it is attacking every one. Look at the velocity? The whole world is on the knees. What it suggests? We are one tree of God and the religions we practice are the branches of that tree. We can cut branches one by one; what is left ... just a stem. That will be the situation if we fight amongst us rather than unite and show compassion and support to the humanity.

A temple - church - mosque - gurudwara - is just a structure where we all meet and pray in good times; but the true church, mosque, temple or gurudwara lives in each individual; we are those living structures.

This sickness has taught us how to live with our families in-doors, how to sacrifice our favourite habits, how to pray. Look around and see how clean our environment is today? We can live without vehicles, planes, trains and ships. It's Gods plan to refurbish, reinstate this mother earth with what is sucked out of it and misused. People who never believed in God are today sticking to TV sets to see which religious program is available so that they can pray to God ..... So lets be nice to each other and save this world for our future generations.

    @j.anata
    Yes
We need to follow government orders(law of land). Pray at home..
    Even Islam encourages this..
Some of the Teaching of prophet.

"If you hear of a plague in a land do not enter it; and if it breaks out in the land where you stay, do not leave"
“Do not quarantine the healthy with the infected.
“Being clean and pure is half of faith

Usually 2 to 3 people will be available in masjid for cleaning and azan purpose.. (with permission from govt authorities) But the condition is no other people can allowed to pray in the current
this should not disturb the neighborhood.

Sadly some stubborn people listens to half knowledge community leaders, This brings bad name to ones Community.

Let us pray everything comes to normal. Stay home Stay Safe.

Two wrongs doesn't make a right". The fact that someone has done something wrong is no justification for acting in a similar way.
