Bengaluru: State government instructs private schools not to hike fee

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Apr 30: The department of public instruction has instructed the managements of private schools in the state against affecting any hike in the school fee for the ensuing academic year.

The department had already indicated that it would not allow schools to increase fee structure for the coming year. State commissioner of the department has now issued a circular barring schools from increasing the fee.

"Private schools were given the liberty to increase tuition fee every year subject to maximum limit of 15 percent. But because of state-wide lockdown affected on account of coronavirus pandemic, the parents of the students have been facing financial crisis. Therefore, private schools should not affect any fee hike for the year 2020-21," the said circular prescribed.

At the same time, the commissioner in the department of public instruction has said that the school managements would be free to downwardly revise the fee as compared to the previous year if they so desire.

But the schools will hike in some other way. Major reason being government is not strict in enforcing basic rule of not hiking of more than 15%. Example is or Orchids International School Nagarbhavi. They have hiked by 25%. This year and they are not ready to reduce fees. They have violated the basic rule of not hiking by more than 15% itself where will they reduce fees. Hope government looks into this, as Principal and Management are not ready.

What measures government has taken not to hike the school fees ? Or just slogans to fool general public. Land lords asking tenants, late EMI charged about 40% interest. I already filed complaint in consumer court against Bajaj finance for charging me interest about 40% on EMI just for 1 weeks late payment.
Government should give some package to private schools so they pass the benefits to parents.

In this pandemic every one respected law and stayed at home, Government must help on this situation to give free education for one year at least. So that people can survive.

Government promised free electricity, Free Gas to all but nothing has been implemented . Where Direct and Indirect Tax goes? why cant Government shoulder burden of his public?

Government can pay salary of private school teacher and reduce burden of school fee and school donations.
