It's really disturbing to see corona death numbers in our district comparing to Kasaragod and mysore. D. K. supposed to be the best in medical field. Earlier we were scared of Kasaragod. But now Kasaragod has gone forward leaving us behind in treating corona patients. Hope D.K. will do it's best to improve its track record.

Though not approved by ICMR as treatment, chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine can be given as a prophylactic (preventive) to those in containment zone or outside who do not have retinopathy, cardiac problems or neurologist problems, and those who have taken it before (for malaria , lupus or rheumatoid arthritis). Both CQ/HCQ are converted to desethylchloroquine in the body which works. It was given in Dharavi (Mumbai) for prophylaxis and with good results.Trump has placed a second order from India for the same reason. It is cheap (60 paisa) compared to Remdesivir which costs $1000 per unit (Rs 70,000).It should be optional not compulsory and should be given after consulting a doctor (not Dotor).!!

Unless testing numbers are massively increased there will not be an end to this. With the lockdown now open people will get infected in large numbers by the asymptomatic carriers. It is unfortunate that we are left to the mercy of fate.

They must stop sending asha workers to villages to meet families for awareness programme as I feel it is unsafe either side. People already protested in several parts of our country over asha workers visit as there is a fear and chance of being the ashaworkers being the carrier for Covid 19

All cases are in areas starting with B i.e. Boloor, Bantwal and Bhatkal. Better to avoid areas starting with "B".

Stocking up essentials is a crime whatever may be the reason.
You may be rich and have lots of money but not everyone.
Stocking up things increase price there by affecting the poor and marginals..

People just wear face masks and think their responsibility is over. Everyone must wash hands before touching face. This must be followed systematically. I've seen people hang their masks over their chin and touch their face. They seem to be wearing them just for the police. Lack of awareness about covid transmission among the masses. The prime Minister must demonstrate this since he has a huge fan following.

The govt and local authorities weren't capable and inefficient whilst dealing with covid. Lack of foresight and implementation of procedures and practices and the authorities , politicians ... were inattentive about the practises in dealing pandemic , have led to this increase.

What is your contribution ? Only writing in this column , "Govt has not done anything"! If people don't care about the protocols to be observed by them during this pandemic , what govt can do ? Catch hold of you and put in jail or under forcible quarantine for 14 days? Even then , you will cry foul of the govt. action.

Govt is doing its job bro. All this started with First Nero hospital. No one is revealing the actual information how the hospital allowed such thing to happen. Hospital authority should be questioned and Penalised for their negligence.

Get your facts right bro..first nuero got its first case from a patient's family member. What do you mean by hospital allowing it to happen? It's only govt now that is allowing things to happen after doing relaxations without getting things under control.. and yea we can see govt doing its job..not only opening liquor shops ,but also 900 more new liquor shops. The economy of the country now depends on drunkards. Don't u get it? That's the state of our nation.
