Fr Harry D'Souza Moves to Kuwait on New Mission

Kuwait, Jan 5: Fr John Harry D'Souza, the editor of Konkani leading monthly magazine 'Sevak', which has created history with circulation over 18,000 copies per issue, is all set to take new challenge in his service to God by joining mission in Kuwait.
On Tuesday Jan 5, 2009 Fr Harry D'Souza will travel to Kuwait, where he will represent Konkani community of Kuwait along with Fr Gasper, who is already in Kuwait and taken charge.
Fr Harry known for his good organizational skills, dynamic leadership qualities and powerful retreat has won several friends all over the world. After taking over 'Sevak' monthly magazine as editor he has brought the magazine a new dimension. After the successful six-year stint as editor, now Fr Harry is ready to taken on another responsibility.
So far three parishes of Kuwait mission was under the charge of Don Bosco congregation of Catholic sect. Now, Ahamdia and Kuwait Cathedral will come under the management of Capuchin Congregation, whereas Salmiya parish will remain under the management of Don Bosco Congregation.
Fr Harry will join other four other capuchin priests who have already reached Kuwait, two from Kerala, Fr Gasper from Goa and one from Philippines. "I am looking forward to serve faithful in Kuwait, and ready to take up the new job after my stint as editor of Sevak" said Fr Harry speaking to Daijiworld.com. He thanked each and everyone who supported him during his tenure as editor in Mangalore and requested people to pray for his mission.
Fr Melwin D'Cunha, popular priest from Mangalore, who was serving in Kuwait until now, will return to Mangalore. With his support to the faithful and specially his support to Konkani language, culture he has won the hearts of Konkani speaking community in Kuwait. With ability to gel with people of all the communities, Fr Melwin has been widely appreciated by faithful in Kuwait irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
