Siddaramaiah, D K Shivakumar laud CM Yediyurappa's effort to provide financial assistance to people

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, May 9: The opposition parties have lauded the efforts of chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa of providing special package of financial assistance to people belonging to various categories of social strata amid lockdown crisis.

It is learnt that a delegation of opposition leaders led by former CM Siddaramaiah met to discuss the lockdown situation and in that meeting they whole-heartedly appreciated the style of working of CM Yediyurappa.

Though the financial situation of the state is in utter turmoil, CM Yediyurappa has announced a financial assistance package of Rs 1,610 crore to people of the state who are facing difficulties due to the lockdown.

(L to R): B S Yediyurappa, Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar

Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar said, "The country is facing uphill task due to the coronavirus pandemic. Compared to other states of the country, Karnataka state is doing an excellent job in controlling the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. Lacs of people are in distress due to the lockdown. It is really appreciable of the chief minister to have announced special financial package though the financial condition of state treasury is in turmoil. I whole heartedly extend by congratulations."

S R Patil, leader of opposition in the state legislative council said, "CM Yediyurappa has become 'Abhinava Basavanna' by declaring special package to labourers."

"The government has so far managed the situation that has cropped up due to the coronavirus pandemic. Declaring special package to downtrodden classes of society is a good decision. Many other labourers are out of the package. They also have to be provided with financial assistance as far as possible," said Siddaramaiah, leader of opposition in the state assembly.

Kodihalli Chandrashekhar, leader of farmers said, "The provision of making transport available to ship the crops that are produced by the farmers is laudable. Announcing financial assistance to flower growers in the special package is commendable. But the farmers should get suitable price for their produce. In addition, they should also get new loans."

For the BJP finance is never question when it comes to buying MP's and MLA's and toppling government. The Karnataka state pays more than Rs 20,000 crores taxes annually to the center. In return for every hundred rupee the state is getting less than Rs 15 that too are not fully paid.Whenever the state affected by natural disaster it has not enough money to rebuild. I

I am glad that the opposition Congress party is stand on pro-migrant workers is finally paid off. I hope this relief found goes to the right people.

You need GUTS to appreciate good works from the government while sitting in the opposition. Recently RaGa thanked government for implementing his suggestions as well. if you have only 56 inch, it is of no use, being humble and listening to suggestions very important in democracy.
Krishna, you're imagining that Congress could have not done anything. When congress brought back 170,000 Indians from Kuwait they did not made it a propaganda.

Don't pocket the money allocated for a Good Cause. No God, people and society will forgive you for the disaster. It's a matter of time everything will unearth all your bad deeds. Stay Blessed always and do your part humbly. No religion, no caste & no party here i am addressing & don't gain mileage for political gains. Do it unconditionally Guys.

Wrong party? Can you take the trouble of giving a couple of reasons why it is wrong party, without being too generic? Or is it just because they have kicked out some very "important" persons out of the throne which they have considered theirs by birth?

Now it is the time to solidarity when nation facing challenges. By appaluding it wont make any sense. Please hike price of diesel petrol liquor as well as frozen items by 23% immediately.

Central government blocked people contributing to CM's funds as they are not tax writable under CSR. Central Government is also not providing the GST funds that is due to states. The failed leadership at center will not go Unnoticed. Center wants to central everything and do the micro planning which will not be successful for a large country like India. Our honorable PM declared the first lock-down to take the credit, and subsequent lock downs were extended by the officials. Central government is maintaining the political distancing with the states leaving them alone to fight the COVID-19 and removing the lock-down.

125 years old party congress only knows to form government after obtaining 40% marks to align with party which scored only 35% marks. BJP party scored alone 70.5% kept away to form the government. Yeah Kaisa Ghatbandan...Yeah Kaisa Insaaf. In Mahrashtra Congress aligned with others as C team. Better they do mass suicide as done by birds in assam jumping into river. Muruku party without propper leader is never accepted by people anymore.

Sanjay, why there is a government in center, if they can still take money yo Italy. BTW, there is nothing connected to Italy other than her birth anyway bur RSS keeps this Italy tag to gain votes by bhakths like you, just like in Pakistan, the army is keeping Kashmir case alive to be in limelight. What happened to the black money sitting in Swiss Banks, even after 6 years, it did not come back to India, what happened to Bofors, Augustaland and land cases against the family? Now, you're telling us that the money will be taken to Italy. Why you did not had problems when money is actually taken by Nirav, Lalit and Mallya??

Aaakhir mein Oont aagaya pahaad ka neeche. Appreciate the move from DKS and Siddu. This is the time NOT to play politics. Respect is gathered only when you work in tandem and support the leadership irrespective of political affiliations. Its a combination that is required for the welfare of the people, The Congi cadres many not like it, as it goes against the principles of Raul Vinci Khan!
