Kundapur: Gangolli coastal security police rescue four fishermen stranded at sea

Kundapur, May 10: Gangolli coastal security police (CSP) personnel on Sunday May 10 rescued four fishermen from a boat that developed a technical snag while in the sea.

The CSP interceptor boat was patrolling at 7.15 am on Sunday in the sea, when the personnel spotted a fishing boat by the name 'Marlichikku' bearing registration number IND KA 03 MO 3033 got stranded in the sea due to some technical fault in the engine.

The interceptor boat not only brought the boat to the shore but also rescued Manikanta Kharvi (22), Nagappa Kharvi (50), Panduranga Kharvi (44) and Santhosh Kharvi (40) who were in the boat.

This operation was carried out under the guidance of police superintendent, CSP and police deputy superintendent on the instructions of Gangolli police inspector Sandeep G S. Gangolli station personnel Gururaj, Prasad, boat captain Deepak and Kalasi Shailesh Kumar were involved in the rescue operation.

Police superintendent CSP has announced prizes to the officials and personnel who took part in the rescue operation.
