PM announces Rs 20 lac crore economic package, lockdown 4.0 details before May 18

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (AM)

New Delhi, May 12: With five days left for the third phase of the nationwide coronavirus lockdown to end, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Tuesday, May 12. Addressing the nation on the coronavirus situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an economic package of Rs 20 lac crore. He said that it is 10% of India's GDP. The PM added that it was for the MSMEs and the ‘honest taxpayers’.

He said, “One virus has destroyed the world. This is an unprecedented crisis; we have to protect ourselves and move ahead as well.

“When the crisis started then not even a single PPE kit was manufactured in India, only a few N95 masks were available. Today two lac PPE kits and 2 lac N95 masks are manufactured in India daily. When India speaks of self-reliance, it does not advocate for a self-centred system. In India's self-reliance there is a concern for the whole world's happiness, cooperation and peace.

“India runs on five pillars: "Economy, infrastructure, technology-driven system, vibrant demography, demand.

"As a nation, we are standing at crucial crossroads. This crisis also presents us with an opportunity. We have changed the disaster into an opportunity," he added.

The prime minister announced an economic package with the aim to build a self-reliant India. He said, “The economic package for the 'Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan' is close to 10 per cent of India's GDP. The total allocation including the last package stands at Rs 20 lac crore. Starting tomorrow, the finance minister will apprise you on details about the package meant to drive the country's 'Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan'.”

"The package will help India compete at the global scale. India will play a major role in the global supply chain. This economic package aims at reforms which will shield our farmers and strengthen Indian industries. Local has saved us. It is not only a necessity, it is our responsibility. Local has to become our 'jeevan mantra'. Today's global brands were once local. We should use local products and also promote them vocally," he said.

"Scientists say that coronavirus will be a part of our lives for a very long time. But we cannot let our lives remain confined around coronavirus. We will wear masks and maintain social distancing but we will not let it affect us. So lockdown 4.0 will be in a new form with new rules. The fourth phase of the coronavirus lockdown in India will be completely different from the earlier three phases of the lockdown. All details will be announced before May 18," he added.

It may be recalled, PM Modi had first addressed the nation over India’s coronavirus preparedness on March 19, where he announced a ‘Janta Curfew’ on March 22. On March 24, he announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown. On April 14, he extended the lockdown period till May 3. On April 3, in a video message, Modi asked the nation to light lamps for frontline corona warriors on April 5. The lockdown was further extended till May 17 by the Home Ministry.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has so far claimed 2,293 lives and infected 70,756 people in the country.

Once again Congress is stumped in its own game.. As soon as this pandemic touched Indian shores, the Cong immediately got into action to take advantage. The first and foremost task was to reinvent its leader with a new image, After being booted out by a lady from his 80 year old family bastion and fleeing to Wayanad to win on Muslim votes,, the Cong thought of new theme. This time around the theme was to project RaGa as 'intellectual'. So couple of tweets everyday and interviews with some voted out economists. Where has this led to? No where, The Cong have to find a new theme and opportunity now.

As regard Wynad, it is not a Muslim belt as you said (more than 70% non-muslims) ..... The same economists whom you are terming as voted out were leading the country earlier and there was nothing wrong with our economy..... Of course RaGa has been involved in instances of public gaffes, but that is still better than a person who never did a impromptu speech or an interview.... In fact the first PM of independent India who faces the press / interviews based on prepared scripts only.

Thank you Modiji, our honorable PM and world leader for announcing 20L crore package. Certainly this is huge one and much beyond expectation. It shocker many who are traditional Modi haters. Never mind, as long as it helps the country at large well and good. It sound like it is pretty much covering all sections of society who are in need. Beneficiaries will be across without considering caste/religion, etc. I am sure still people will find reasons for hate. Disgusting. I am sure majority of Indians are wth this visionary leader, who is hard working and non corrupt. Still you will find reason to hate him, hate him. More you hate more powerful he will be. please note he is going to win next election also. Country was in much need of such great leader. In the past we have used to corruption, family politics..etc..etc and were fedup. He has created new hope and confidence among true Indians. Let hate mogers continue to do thier job, Modi will continue to do good job for the country and crores of people behind him to support. Many are finding it difficult to see India prosper and increase in Modi popularity. I think they need and deserve gutter level politics.I am sorry to disappoint to haters, India will emerge as very strong nation post Covid and Modi will emerge as strong global leader.

Government will ask RBI to issue Rs. 20 lakh crores due to emergency. First of all it asks some guarantee..to keep gold on guarantee. There is even provision is there without guarantee can print that much of currencies when nation is in disaster. RBI may print Rs.12 lakh crores currency and rest Rs.8 lakh crores as a Promissory Note. It's called Helicopter money or Copter money. Currencies which printed latter on distributed to various banks/financial institutions which are standing empty due to issuance of much loans to companies during the time of congress. People who taken money in between Rs.8000 crores to Rs.20000 crores fled the country..now modiji after them to recover the same. After all modiji is sachhi wafadar chowkidaar.
Money in banks will be distributed free to poor people, small traders, businessmen on zero percentage interest..or low fixed interest. As soon as Matha Lakshmi entered into people's hand are started to buy things in the market. Some even buy liquor for enjoyment. Once again in market chahal-pahal starts. As products in market start to vanish quickly subsequently government earn more tax unknowingly. It will once again give boost to economy. Everywhere Matha Laxmi play a dual role. If tommorow there is no funds to give salary to central and state government employees agitation will start. No police, Army, Hospital staffs stop working without salary. Terrorist will take advantage and hijack people quickly. Ab toh sajaan sawaan mein..

PM was pressurised to announce the economic stimulus after Rahul Gandhi spoke to great economists like Raghurama Rajan and Abhijit Banerjee. As suggested by Banerjee, PM has announced 10% of the GDP instead of 0.1% planned earlier. Credit goes to Rahul Gandhi for making the common people to understand the impact and corrective measures.

Now the big question is whether this stimulus will be put into action in a timely manner with preference to the poorest of poor. How the money will be generated is a big question. Initially government needs to pump the money to the system as the cycle of money in way of taxes will come much later. We need to watch and see how this unfolds. If this remain only on paper as the earlier projects then there is danger to the country.

Many of the Modi supporters are rejoicing as mission completed. Mission has still not started and there is long way to go.

Of course they will be worried sir. Congress built this country in spite of having having number of road blocks. That’s why we have good health, education and we are competing with developed countries. Announcing 10% or 100% of GDP is fine becauase its our money. You should also know that this 2trillion Dollar GDP is what we have achieved post independence - mostly during 60 years of congress rule. Unless Economy reforms, we will all be in trouble including our next generation.

Modi said “One virus has destroyed the world”, but for India there is one more in the form of communalism and when it comes to dealing with the same, “Silence is golden” is his principle. Good only for camouflaging the Government schemes under catchy acronyms, he is taking pride in producing large number of PPE Kits, which the Government otherwise also is duty bound to do it for its citizens.

He also said "As a nation, we are standing at crucial crossroads. This crisis also presents us with an opportunity. We have changed the disaster into an opportunity," Very true, he turns every crisis into an opportunity,

Crude prices reduced by 70% since January internationally and he turned it into an opportunity by reducing fuel prices only by 7%.

PMNRF was already there and a new PM Cares Fund was floated, which according to newspaper reports is highly opaque in terms of amount collected, names of donors / beneficiaries etc, and supposedly amassed more than 5000 crores. Another example of turning the crisis into an opportunity.

(Interesting fact though unrelated is that Railways donated 151 Crores to PM Cares, but don’t have resources to bear the travel cost of migrants). Hence Mithrrrroooonnnn, Zara Socho !!!!!

Ms.Juliet Here after please try to buy all 100% indian made products to boost our economy. Our aim to reach US Dollar Five Trillion economy by the year 2024-25. Our Prime minister informed should give more importance to local made products than to popular international brands. Better you start to buy soaps either from Tata , Godrej, Patanjali, Mysore Sandal, Medimax, Tulsi, Dabur and many more. Dont opt to go for Dove, Pears, Lux etc. Your contribution to boost economy is also essential. Our local products support us during crises when incoming products from other countries halted completely. Due to local products available in India in a plenty we survived the most from last four months. Yes henceforth we want to compete with international brands and improve our quality of product and packaging much. Also need publicity much. Dont you think even Pond's Talcum Powder manufactured in Chennai is of India. It also one of products of Unilever Group. We should invite foreign companies to invest in india side by side we also to encourage our companies the most. By 2025..India will become world leader..under leadership of Shri Narendrabhai Modiji. PM has announced 20 lakh crores package and it is a welcome step. How this will be utilised needs to be seen. Regarding package to Migrant workers it should be done now without any delay. Immediate arrangement to be done for their transportation. Even.now many migrants walk and some go in the truck in hundreds (like animals) without any social distancing.

Regarding testing he needs to increase it 10 times to detect the spread of virus. Regarding his advice to buy local material, government need to put policies in place to stop the Chinese material from coming and give subsidies to local manufacturers to compete. Otherwise it will be an eye wash.

It is easier to make statement. India can make any product if government support such industries by subsidies to be able to compete internationally. Otherwise no body will venture to make such products as Chinese machinery is available in.much lesser price.

People will purchase Indian products only when they get good quality of material at best price without anybody telling them. Here government has to make policy for such thing to happen. This statement of PM looks to be eye wash only.

Why is the Govt not Self reliant than asking us to be Self Reliant. Indians are Self Reliant since 1947 and this is nothing new. Migrant workers became self reliant when they started to walk to their home town when the Govt failed to provide them transport free of cost. Just to recollect your memory. 1. Modi promised Ache Din, did you get it. 2. Modi promised to bring back black money did he bring back instead scamsters, fraudsters ran away (all his gujarati and business friends). 3. He did demonetisation and killed 150 people, did it help India. 4. He did GST (which he criticised while in opposition) and it failed. 5. GDP from 8% in 2013 has come down to 2% in 2020. 6. International Petrol and Diesel price at its lowest but price in India at it highest in the world. 7. Modi did not control corona virus it is because the Indians are hard working and are immune to it due to its good health eating habits - as we use Garlic, Turmeric, Coriander, Mint, Green Chillies, Red chillies etc etc in our food. 8. Modi promised Rs. 125,000 lakh crores for Bihar in 2015 and till today they have not got after 5 years. 9. Modi promised 2 Crores job in 2014 but now 12Crores jobs are lost. 10. Modi has not built one school, college or university in these 6 years where as congress built IIMs, IITs, AIIMS but he built only statues. So I have understood your priorities, you have become blind and cannot see the truth.

Nirav Modi was a very big donor to BJP during their election campaign, as claimed by Shivsena, in their yesterday newspaper saamna....no mention about Fatboy Mehulbhai.....so tell me, why will they bring such blokes, back to India?

Stop buying international products. Not in India but worldwide Two Wolves captured whole market and introduced different products under different brands. When we reach..shop..in shelves we find different names of soaps. But actually 70% all belongs to this two Giants..Anglo Dutch Company Unilever and Proctor Gamble. Lifebuoy soap price low for poor people Lux Soap is for middle class people and Dove Soap is for rich people. All three brands belonged to.Unilever group. Money flown to there company automatically based in western countries. For that we ourselves manufacture our own brands and do publicity of the same. China is depending mostly on it's own local products.

In coming days there are many opportunity open up in India as most of companies shift from China to India. Lot of employment create..for which need much labourers. Migrant workers who went to there native place will reach in large numbers in all the states. First we should protect ourselves. Latter think of development. Negative thinkers everywhere to find out loopholes..please avoid them. It is in there blood.

This Package of Rs. 20 Lakh Crore is a big lie. From where is he going to arrange this money, introduce higher taxes. He promised Rs. 125,000 crore to Bihar in Last election and till today he has not paid a single penny. He has not paid the GST Taxes due to respective states from Dec., 2019 and we expect Rs. 20 Lakh crore package. There should be some limit towards lying.

Only Shri Narendrabhai Modiji change India. Within six years we have seen many changes. Foundation all over placed. Big amount announced by the government. Here by try to buy local products. As we know some countries in the world especially in gulf all depend upon products from overseas.

More Scamsters and Fraudsters running away from India. 5. No money for Migrants but Rs. 20 Lakh Crore economy revival is there. All Gone in the wind Talks.
