Beltangady: Dr Veerendra Heggade, Family, Offer ‘Padabhisheka’ to Bhagwan Bahubali

Beltangady, Feb 4: “Life in this world will be worth living if one worships God and contributes to charity and performs good deeds”, said Sri Laxmisena Bhattaraka Swami of Simhanagadde Basti Mutt, Narasimharajapur.
The Swamiji was speaking at a discourse held at Ratnagiri, Dharmasthala, on Wednesday February 3, on the occasion of the ‘Padabhisheka’ ceremony of the monolithic sculpture of Bhagwan Bahubali.
“Teertankars are worshipped because they always thought of the well-being of mankind”, he said and called on the devotees to lead life based on the teachings propagated by the Teertankars.
Sri Lalitakeerthi Bhattaraka Swami of Karkala Mutt, in his spiritual message to the gathering, said that total devotion can lead one to eternity where exists no suffering, but only heavenly bliss. He said that non-violence leads to peace and happiness in life.
Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade and his family offered the Padabhisheka at the feet of Bhagwan Bahubali by pouring 216 vessels filled with eight liquids derived from various sources such as milk, turmeric, and the like.
A grand procession from Dr Heggade’s ancestral house was also held ahead of the Padabhisheka.
