Beltangady, Feb 5: A couple from Puduvettu died in an unfortunate accident that occurred when a bike and bus collided head-on at Laila here on Thursday February 4.
The deceased have been identified as Mathew (50) and Gracy (45) of Vemballi house near Bolminar Church, Puduvettu village. The couple was on the way to Dharmastala in a bike when speeding government bus on the way to Mangalore hit the bike head-on.
The couple with severe injuries was first admitted to a local private hospital. They were pronounced brought dead when they were shifted to government hospital. The couple originally hail from Kerala and was employed in a rubber estate in the taluk.
The couple is survived by a son, who is commissioned in the army and daughter, who is a journalist in Bangalore.
