Mangalore: Thieves Target House of Dhananjay Kumar's Brother

Mangalore, Feb 10: A house belonging to the brother of former union minister Dhananjay Kumar was targeted by thieves on Wednesday February 10. 

The stolen goods include Rs 2 lac in cash besides gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 5 lac. 

The house named ‘Saurabha’ is owned by Bharathraj Alva and is situated near Nanthoor Padav. The theft occurred at a time when nobody was home. 


The cupboards and the house were found ransacked. The cash and ornaments were kept inside the cupboard. Police said that the offenders entered through the rear of the house.

The owner of the house works as a deputy general manager in Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL).  He had been to Venoor near Karkala on Tuesday February 9, to attend a marriage function. 

The theft came to light after he returned home and is believed to have occurred on Tuesday. 

Kadri police are investigating the case and have registered a complaint in this regard.
