Kasaragod: Thousands Pay Last Respects to Mangalore Kazi

  The mortal remains of Mangalore Kazi, Al Haj C M Abdulla Musliyar Chembarikka, have been kept here at the Malabar Islamic Complex in Mahinabad at chattanchal for public viewing. Scores of people came and paid their last respects to this great scholar and religious leader of eminence.
 
The body of the Kazi was shifted from Pariyaram Hospital, after the post mortem. A number of people had gathered at the hospital premises, after his body was shifted from the spot of his death to the hospital. The suspicious circumstances under which his body was found at the seashore had made rumours to fly thick and thin, making the people very much concerned and worried over the development.  The late Kazi had gained immense popularity because of his in-depth knowledge of Quran and his scholarly books. 
 

 

People from all over the districts and parts of the state had gathered at the Malabar Islamic Complex to pay last respects to the late Al Haj Abdulla Musliyar Chembarikka.
 
As per some sources, the funeral is scheduled to be held on Tuesday February 16 at the Jumma Masjid in Chembarikka.  
 
Meanwhile, Kasaragod deputy superintendent of police, Habib Rahman, informed the media, that as per the post mortem report, a large quantity of water was found in the lungs and stomach of the late Kazi.

Leaders from political parties, MLAs, former ministers as well as religious leaders,  paid their respects to the departed scholar at the Malabar Islamic Complex.


In Mangalore, following the sad demise of the Mangalore Kazi, Al Haj C M Abdulla Musliyar Chembarikka, people from the Bunder area paid their respect to the departed soul through mourning and closing their shops and establishments oon after hearing the news.

Kasaragod, Feb 15: Kazi of Mangalore, Al Haj C M Abdulla Musliyar Chembarikka  (75), passed away on Monday, February 15, and his death is shrouded in mystery, as his body was found at the seashore near Chembarikka near his residence.  
 
The Kazi’s body was found by the fishermen at the seashore at about 8.30 am today. The body of the Kazi has since been shifted to Periyar Medical College for the post mortem.
 
As he was suffering from certain illnesses and was of advanced age, the family sources said, that the chances of him going to the seashore for a walk are almost non-existent.

When Appointed as the Kazi of Mangalore in 2008


    
He was serving as the Kazi of Mangalore since October 2008. Before being appointed as the Kazi of Mangalore, he had served a number of mosques in Kasaragod and other places. In addition to serving as the Kazi of Mangalore, he had also served as the Kazi in Chembarikka.

The late Kazi had written many religious books after obtaining his Moulavi Fazil Bakhavi (MFB) degree from Vellore. He knew English, Malayalam, Urdu, and Arabic languages well. He had also served as the founder principal of Sahadi Arabic College in Kasargod. He had written books in different languages ie., English, Malayalam, Urdu and Arabic. He is survived by wife, three sons and five daughters.

Shops and establishments in Bunder area of the city downed their shutters on hearing the demise of the Kazi, as a mark of respect for the deceased scholar and religious leader.
