Dr Shantaram Shetty, Sudhir Shetty Guests of Honour at Bunts Bahrain Event

Bahrain, Feb 17: The induction ceremony of the new executive committee of Bunts Bahrain for the year 2010-11 will be held at the Indian Club on Friday February 19, at 6.00 pm.
Ajay Kumar, charge de affairs of Indian Embassy, Dr Shantharam Shetty, renowned orthopaedic surgeon from Mangalore, and Sudhir Kumar Shetty, COO, UAE Exchange, Abu Dhabi, will be the guests of honour.
“The induction ceremony will be followed by a cultural programme which will see the participation of various members of the Bunts community”, said Amaranath Rai, president, Bunts Bahrain, while talking to Daijiworld.com.
He expressed his delight in welcoming Dr Shantharam Shetty and Sudhir Kumar Shetty to the event.

Dr Santharam Shetty was born in an illustrious Bunts family of Dakshina Kannada and obtained his MBBS from the Government Medical College, Mysore, and his MS (Ortho) from Delhi University.
He is a professor and the head of the orthopaedic department at KMC, Mangalore. Besides this, Dr Shantharam Shetty is also a member of the senate of Mangalore University and chairman, Board of MAHE University, Manipal.
The recipient of 16 different national and state awards including Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, he is currently the chancellor of Nitte University.
Y Sudhir Kumar Shetty, COO, Global Operation of UAE Exchange, is a leading figure in the field of finance and global remittance. He has been leading the UAE Exchange since 1991. He initiated and led the ambitious study for the total organizational restructuring of the UAE Exchange in 2003.
Prior to this, Sudhir worked as an internal auditor for a new medical group of companies and has successfully completed the ‘Key Executive Program’ from Havard Business School, USA.
He is a member of the national anti-money laundering committee of the UAE Central Bank. Sudhir is the treasurer of the foreign exchange and remittance group besides being president of the Indian Social of Cultural Center, Abu Dhabi, and a member of various business groups in Abu Dhabi.
Rai added that he is expecting the whole Bunts community in Bahrain, comprising of around 400 families, to turn up for this event.
