New Delhi, Jul 12 (IANS) Amid reports that the Congress was faced with a crisis over the survival of its government in Rajasthan, state Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh on Sunday said he was visiting Delhi over a personal matter.
"Had a meeting with my lawyer in Mathura regarding a personal matter and left onwards for Delhi to meet my ailing sister. What's so confusing about that?" the Minister tweeted.
In an earlier tweet, he posted: "What utter nonsense! I am going to Mathura to discuss a court case!"
Along with his comments, he retweeted news reports regarding his political moves and likely meeting with party leaders during the Delhi visit.
Considered close to Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, the scion of the erstwhile Bharatpur royals did not turn up at meetings called by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Earlier report said Pilot had arrived in Delhi on Saturday and sought a meeting with Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi.
Meanwhile, sources said that the Pilot camp claimed support of 25 MLAs but it may not lead to the fall of the state government as the difference between Congress and BJP MLAs in the Assembly is huge.
