Udupi: Calculator Ban Puts PU Students in a Fix

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Mar 23: There are reports that the second pre university students, who are appearing for their final examinations now, are barred from taking their calculators inside, in some of the examination halls, while in others, no such ban is enforced. This has clearly worked to the disadvantage of the students who are not allowed to take calculators inside the centres.

In the geography examination, a question relating to Pichat required a calculator to find out the answer. It is reported that the authorities at Jyoti College in Balmatta did not allow the students to use calculators, while in the Besant College, this was allowed.

This is happening because of lack of clear cut guidelines from the department, the disgruntled students complain.
